A home made air conditoner for a dorm room. The problem is further complicated by different sales persons promoting their products in different ways. There are those who claim that air conditioners can replace your need for dehumidifiers. It is a fact that air conditioners do control the humidity of the air. But it is equally true that air conditioners can in no way be compared to dehumidifiers. The primary task of an air conditioner is to regulate the temperature of an enclosed space, be it a room or an entire building. That it dehumidifies is an additional benefit. But it is not a replacement for a dehumidifier.

yes, its not an airconditioner. BUT its complexicated and looks fun to make!
I made an airconditioner from 3 empty butter tubs, 1 empty whipped cream tub, a cpu fan funnel and a 120V AC fan. 1 butter tub holds the fan and a funnel directs the air. the second tub holds ice which the fan draws warm air through, effectively cooling it. the third butter tub allows the air to flow into the ice tub and the melting ice water to fall down past the air holes into the whipped cream tub water resevoir below.

The reason I didnt put it by my bed is because it was a loud fan, as you can hear in the video… i didnt want that noise that close to my head every night, hence the making of the carboard tubing
You didn’t make an air conditioner. You just took a fan and duct taped cardboard to it. Why is nearly everyone hailing you as a genius for this?
